30/04/2012 - Category: Press releases

The first ever premium media auction to take place for newspapers in the UK launches today, Monday
30th April, with the London Evening Standard selling their premium print and digital media across the
London Games on MediaEquals. The first lots up for sale are the include the coveted cover wraps, front
page strip and online home page and sports section takeovers for the opening ceremony day of the
games on 27th July 2012.

Representing some of the world's biggest advertisers, all the main press buyers across the UK have
now been trained on the MediaEquals auction platform, preparing them for the highly competitive £
multi-million auction taking place next week. Buyers spent this week honing their auction skills in a
practice run that took place on Wednesday and Thursday where they competed for dummy lots.
With London's most high-visibility print and digital media under the hammer across next week, agencies
are determined to ensure they're fully prepared to get the best deals for their clients.
David Mulrenan, Head of Press at ZenithOptimedia UK said "There is a real buzz in the market. These
are uncharted waters and our plans are in place to ensure our clients have the best representation in
the market."

Gary Goodman, CEO MediaEquals said "MediaEquals auctions for outdoor media around the Olympics
set a new standard for competition and transparency; the London Evening Standard are setting a new
benchmark in Press"
